Make Yourself At Home
Collaborative installation with Delaney Smith.
This collaborative installation, created by Delaney Smith and Joy O. Ude, is comprised of found and collected fabrics, many of which are symbolically significant. Sheets worn from years of use during the artists' childhoods are linked with pieces of old uniforms and leftover scraps from past projects. The surface is a visual history with patterns and textures unified by the fabric dyeing process.
Make Yourself at Home invites the viewer to explore an environment where nostalgia is bigger than life.
